Did you kno that germany is the Toy Capital of the world? Neither did I lol I just thought that was an interesting fun fact for all of you at home Lol
We left Germany this Morning and crossed into Switzerland. We went to the black forest which is known for its cuckoo clocks and did some shopping :)
Needless to say I'm shipping some stuff home so some people may not they their presents when I get back. Shipping can take 4-6 weeks so some of you will need to be patient.lol
What's interesting is that you have to pay to cross the border here. Out tour guide was explaining that there is some of tax that you need to pay whenever crossing borders. The price ranges on how many kilos you plan on traveling, how big the vehicle is and how many passengers are on board. Our bus has a total of 45 people on it (including the guide and driver and costs € 280!!!
Once we crossed over we went to the Rhine Falls, where we grabbed lunch and took se pictures. It was rainy but not cold. I was in shorts and comfortable...here are some pix
We ended the day in Lucerne, switzerland. Lucerne kind of reminds me of Rome with the river running right thru it. The river never freezes! At least that's what our tour guide says Once all of our touring was over I went on a hunt for a battery charger for my camera. Two electronic stores and no luck :(
The lion monument: Commemorates the death of soldiers from the French revolution in 1792. The statue was farces by a Danish architect. The quote on the top is latin but is translated as "for the faith and virtue of Switzerland " if you really look at the lion he looks sad...he's just been shot in the chest. He symbolizes all the Pride and Pain.
The night ended well after the some drinking and yodeling. Pretty much the entire group wen to a Swiss Folklore Party at this authentic Swiss resturaunt. That was a lot of fun! I haven't seen grandma laugh that hard in a while.
